Review: A December to Remember by Jenny Bayliss

Three bickering half sisters. One unique antiques shop. The coziest holiday season of their lives.Wildly different half sisters Maggie, Simone, and Star have hardly seen one another since their sprightly summers at Rowan Thorp, their eccentric father Augustus’s home. Known for his bustling approach to the knick-knack shop he ran, Augustus was loved by all and known by none, not even his daughters. Now, years later, the three estranged women are called upon for the reading of Augustus’s will and quickly realize he’s orchestrated a series of hoops through which they must jump to unlock their inheritance—the last thing any of them want to do. But Maggie and Star desperately need the money. And who would Simone be to resist? Through hilarious goose chases, small-town mishaps, and one heart-warming winter solstice celebration, love is in the air, if only the three sisters can let themselves grasp it.”

Happy Saturday!

Today is my stop on the tour for A December to Remember by Jenny Bayliss 💖 Thank you so much to the lovely Chloe & Pan Macmillan for my beautiful copy and for having me on the tour!

I am SO ready for Christmas! This book has put me in such a Christmassy mood, bring on the mistletoe and holly 😂

I loved the concept of this story! I love the complicated family dynamics of estranged sisters having to come back for their fathers funeral and also the tensions of them having to work together to fulfil his last wishes! I have two older sisters and the interactions between the characters were so relatable, I could definitely see us in them! 😂

I really enjoyed how each sister had a distinct personality and quirky traits, it was so nice to be able to read from each of their POV’s and get to really know them! The amazing LGBTQ+ representation also stole my heart too!

The plot points of the story were so fun! I really enjoyed the elements of the Winter Solstice celebration the girls had to put together – it really made me want to go to one! And the scavenger hunt for the monopoly houses was so cute!

This was my first Jenny Bayliss book and I am an instant fan! I’m adding her backlist to my TBR straight away!

A December to Remember was such a cosy, warm read and is perfect for the Christmas season!

* Please do check trigger warnings for this book before reading as it mentions topics such as fertility issues, death of a parent and drug addiction!💖*
